Financial Aid
Our main concern is that you have the potential to succeed, the willingness to work, and the personal qualities to grow and prosper as a member of our community. We know that finances are important in this process, and we are here to help you make the money end of things work.

So, how does financial aid figure in? It’s simple: financial aid works toward removing cost as the determining factor in your decision to consider Malone College. Look at the big picture first. Decide if Malone is a great choice for you. If it is, our financial aid professionals will help you identify all of the resources for which you are eligible, including scholarships, grants, loans, and part-time employment.

And, as you make your plans, here’s something important to keep in mind: financial aid doesn’t come looking for you. You must apply for it and applying on time is absolutely crucial. Malone makes it easy:
  • Apply for admission to Malone College.
  • After January 1st, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Apply as early as possible for maximum financial aid consideration. Remember, March 1st is our priority deadline.

Grants
Malone participates in federal grant programs (Pell, SEOG), state grant programs for Ohio students, and
even a reciprocal agreement with Pennsylvania. Grants do not have to be repaid.

Merit-based scholarships
Awards are based on your grades, test scores, leadership, and Christian commitment. We also offer scholarships for music, drama, leadership, and other talents.

Athletic scholarships
Malone offers awards in each of our varsity sports. These awards are given at the discretion of the coach.

Need-based federal student loans
Stafford and Perkins loans are awarded based on need as determined by your FAFSA.

Non-need based federal student loans
Unsubsidized Stafford loans can be borrowed if you do not qualify for need-based loans through the FAFSA process.

Federal Parent Loans
Parent PLUS loans are available to parents of enrolled students. Parent loans can help cover the costs of attending Malone (tuition, fees, room, board, and books).

Student employment
We have students working as faculty assistants, tutors, lab assistants, athletic trainers, and a host of other on-campus positions. Our students also work off-campus in several community service jobs.
