Workshop for Credit

Natural Science

The natural science workshops are designed as a two credit hour field study.  The field trips and classroom lectures take place over three Saturdays for each course, and these courses are offered in the spring and fall.  Topics vary but can include conservation biology and natural ares of Ohio.
 
Fall 2008 
 
 
   Three Saturdays:
    September 6--Morning Malone College campus
    September 13--Morning, Eagle Creek Preserve, Portage County; afternoon, Johnson's Woods, Wayne County
    September 20--All day at Sheick's Hollow in Hocking Hills, Ohio
 
    Rigorous hiking is required.

    Three Saturdays:
    September 27--Morning, J & J Refuse Recycling Facility and Landfill Tour; afternoon videos and discussion at Malone
    October 8--Morning, Akron Water Pollution Control Station; afternoon KB Composting, Akron
    October 11---All day--The Wilds, Cumberland, Ohio

    Course Requirements
  • Course is graded as Credit/No Credit 
  • Attendance is required for all classes 
  • Participation is required 
  • Notebook/journal will be kept and turned in for grading; worksheets will be included 
  • Rigorous hiking is required in southern Ohio (September 22, 2007)
