New construction will begin on a new residence hall, adjacent to the current location of the Bob Starcher Field. The newest structure - necessitated by a series of years in which Malone has experience record enrollments - will house 230 students. Of the 2385 students studying at Malone this year, nearly 1000 are residential students. The additional residence hall will make it possible for approximately 1200 students to reside on the Malone campus.

Spring semester of 2005 saw ground broken for the two newest additions: a state-of-the-art building for the School of Nursing and a re-designed entrance to the Brehme Centennial Center.

The nursing school’s 30,000 square foot addition to Mitchell Hall will house classrooms, nursing and science laboratories, student and faculty lounges, faculty offices, and a café.

This boon to Malone’s undergraduate, graduate, and degree completion nursing programs reflects Malone’s ongoing commitment to addressing the nation’s critical nursing shortage.  Currently, more than 400 of Malone’s total student body of 2,253 are enrolled in one of Malone’s nursing programs.  The construction is made possible in large part due to the concerted efforts of Congressman Ralph Regula, who was responsible for securing $2,500,000 in federal appropriations toward the $3,500,000 project.

In May of 2007, Malone dedicated its newest academic building, Regula Hall, named in honor of U.S. Representative Ralph Regula (R - Navarre), of the 16th Congressional District, and his wife, Mary, founding chair and president of the National First Ladies’ Library in Canton. The 30,000 square foot structure, attached to Mitchell Hall and the Timken Science Building, is home to Malone’s School of Nursing, housing classrooms, state-of-the-art nursing and science laboratories, faculty offices, and a café.

The recently re-designed entrance to the Brehme Centennial Center, funded by the building’s endowment, includes expanded dining facilities, the Brehme Conference Center, and provides a strong visual presence.
