Women's Team Has Successful Fall Campaign

The next week, the women’s squad had two successful tournaments. They first competed in the Walsh Invitational finishing fourth among six teams. The Pioneers recorded a two-day total of 770 (390-380) for the fourth-place finish. Grubb again led the team as she posted a score of 168 (86-83). Grubb’s impressive score was good enough for fourth-place in the tournament and only four shots behind the medalist. The last tournament before the season-ending Region IX Championships was the Tiffin Invitational. The Pioneers placed ninth out of 12 teams in this very strong field. With The University of Findlay winning the tournament with a score of 334, the Pioneers posted a score of 381. Grovemiller led Malone’s squad with a score of 91. Next up for the women was the AMC/NAIA Region IX Championships hosted by Ohio Dominican. Representing the Pioneers at the championships was Grubb, Grovemiller, Hall, Marissa Brown (Sr., John Glenn H.S.), and Jenny Green (So., Oak Harbor H.S.). After the one-day event, the Pioneers finished an impressive third overall out of nine teams. Leading the Pioneers was Grubb with a score of 84, which earned her First Team All-AMC honors. Grovemiller and Brown were close behind with scores of 89 and 93, respectively. |
