The following list was developed to help you as you as you prepare for life if the residence halls at Malone.
It is a good idea to wait until you have moved in and see what you
really need before you bring or buy everything on the
list.
In addition, we strongly encourage
you to talk with your roommate(s) and/or suitemates before
packing or buying anything. Many items such as a couch,
television, refrigerator, etc, can be shared.
- Pillows, bankets/comforter and twin sheets to fit extra long mattress (80-inches long)
- Alarm Clock
- Multiple outlet surge protectors and 3-prong extension cords
- Telephone, answering machine,
and pre-paid calling cards
- Students should only use
wireless/cordless telephones that are DECT 6.0 compliant in residence hall rooms. This
is the best and only way
to assure that the phone does not interact with the wireless access points that are or will be located
in the residence halls.
(It should state right on the box they purchase the phone in whether it is DECT
6.0 compliant). It will say this on the box when the student purchases them from the store.

- Desk supplies (daily planner, paper, pens, pencils, stapler, scissors, calculator, post-it notes)
- Back pack or book bag
- Dictionary and thesaurus
- Personal Bathroom supplies (soap, shampoo, towel, flip flops,) and basket to carry them in
- Medical bag (prescription medications, Tylenol, Pepto Bismol, cough syrup, band-aids)
- Wastebaskets and trash bags
- Cleaning supplies
- Laundry supplies (detergent, dryer sheets laundry, basket/bag) No quarters - Laundry is FREE
- Computer and printer
- Fan
- Tennis racket, basketball, volleyball, baseball
- Rollerblades, bike
- Snacks, plate, bowl, mugs, cups, flatware, silverware (or plastic ware)
- Can opener
- Posters/pictures and poster mount
- Television, DVD player, stereo, CD's, DVD's
- Headphones
- Stamps and stationary
- Kleenex, paper towels
- Camera
- Calendar
- Extra set of car keys
- Umbrella or rain coat
- Couch, chair, futon
- Board games or playing cards
- Small tool kit

- Small refridgerator (no more than 3.6 cubic feet)
- Memo board (dry erase board)
