Pioneers Notch 2-0 Victory At Carlow (PA)The Malone College women’s soccer team extended its current winning streak to three games on Tuesday evening with a 2-0 road victory over Carlow (PA) University. The American Mideast Conference North Division win improved the Pioneers’ record to 5-4-0 (2-1-0 AMC N) on the season while Carlow dropped to 0-7-0 (0-3-0 AMC N).
Tuesday’s contest remained scoreless until the 54th minute when forward Alysia Ramirez (Jr., San Jose, CA) got Malone on the board with a goal off an assist from midfielder Ashley Dennerlein (Jr., Baden, PA). The Pioneers’ lead then increased to 2-0 in the final minute of the match after a shot by Malone midfielder Fleur Wynne-Morgan (Sr., County Kerry, Ireland) was deflected into the net by a Carlow defender.
The Pioneers held a commanding 17-1 advantage in total shots on goal over the course of the evening. Goal keeper Sam Brown (Jr., Butler, PA) posted one save for her first shutout of the season while Celtic keeper Allison Nolan tallied 15 saves.
Malone will return to action on Thursday (9/27) when they host a 4:00 p.m. match against Kentucky Christian University (1-6-0). |
