Notre Dame (OH) Rallies For 3-2 Win Over Pioneers

 
The Malone College volleyball team dropped a five-game match on the road Tuesday night to American Mideast Conference North Division opponent Notre Dame (OH) College.  The Pioneers opened the evening with victories in the first two games of the match, but the host Falcons rallied for the win after taking each of the last three games.  Following the hard-fought 30-23, 30-27, 21-30, 24-30, 13-15 loss, Malone drops to 13-14 (4-3 AMC N) on the season while Notre Dame maintains their spot atop the AMC North Division standings with an overall record of 15-10 (7-1 AMC N).
 
Jennifer Gahagan (Fr., Ravenna Southeast H.S.) led the way for the Pioneers with 18 digs and a season-high 18 kills.  Kristen Schoolcraft (So., McKinley H.S.) followed with 11 kills and four blocks (two solo) while Lori Ickes (Fr., Smithville H.S.) drilled home 13 kills with 18 digs and four service aces.  Emily Beiting (Fr., Ft. Thomas, KY) chipped in with nine kills and a team-high 25 digs and Alyssa Dibell (So., Fairless H.S.) dished out 50 assists.
 
The squad will next participate in the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) East Region Tournament hosted by Roberts Wesleyan (NY) College on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 19 & 20).
