Norton’s Derek Jeffrey To Play Soccer At Malone College

 

 

Derek Jeffrey, of Norton and senior at Norton High School, has recently signed a national letter of intent to attend Malone College in the fall and play soccer for the Pioneers.

Jeffrey, a 6’2” goalkeeper, was a four-year letter winner in soccer and a three-year letter winner in both football and tennis for the Panthers, collecting numerous awards throughout his high school career.  In soccer, he was named to the Portage Trail Conference (PTC) First Team as a senior after having collected All-Conference Honorable Mention accolades as a junior.  Jeffrey also excelled in tennis, earning All-PTC First Team honors in 2007 while helping Norton claim regular season and league tournament championships in both 2006 and 2007.  In addition, he was also tabbed the Panther football team’s special teams player of the year and participated in a soccer all-star game in 2007.

Academically, Jeffrey was a member of the National Junior Honor Society, Norton’s Merit Roll and Honor Roll, and was also a recipient of the Presidential Academic Award.

He is the son of Ron and Karen Jeffrey of 4432 Grant Street, Norton and is planning to major in Exercise Science at Malone.
