Malone College’s Daniel J. Walton, a senior media communication
major from Canal Fulton, was recently notified that he is the recipient of the
Frederic D. and Dorothy C. Vechery Christian College Consortium Scholarship, in
the amount of $4500, for the 2008-2009 academic year.
Mr.
and Mrs. Vechery of Coral Ridge,
Florida, created the endowed
scholarship to reward academic achievement, leadership, and character
development – while reducing financial burden – of students completing
undergraduate studies at a Christian college.
The Christian College Consortium has brought thirteen
Christian colleges together since the early 1970s. The member institutions were
selected on the basis of quality of program, commitment to the evangelical,
Protestant heritage, and geographical distribution… The Christian College Consortium provides a unique
opportunity for presidents and other college officers to meet together on a
regular basis with a relatively small group of peers from similar institutions
to discuss the most urgent issues facing the evangelical Christian church,
American higher education in general, and Christian higher education in
particular. |
