Release Date: July 25, 2008
The
Malone College social work program was recently notified that it has been re affirmed by the Council of Social
Work Education (CSWE) through 2016. The eight-year
reaffirmation period is the longest allowed by CSWE guidelines. The program was noted as having ten “areas of strength” during the site visit: these
areas included such important aspects of the program as the integration of the liberal arts perspective, the breadth
and experience of the field liaisons
and professional advisors, and the many ways in which the program provides opportunities for students to interact
with diverse populations.
Current field director Kenneth
M. Stoltzfus, LISW-S, LICDC, will assume duties as chair of the social work program
and Elizabeth Patterson, MSW, LSW, moves into the field director position, as Jane
Hoyt-Oliver, Ph.D., LISW-S, will serve as chair of Malone’s general education program
for the 2008-2009 academic year.
According to Dr. Hoyt-Oliver,
“We are excited about the years ahead. We
have an amazing program. Malone College
Social Work faculty members are all involved in research and community
service. We are most grateful to all of
those who have been a part of the program, and look forward to their continued
support and input in the years to come.” |
