Course Objectives:
To provide students with the necessary writing skills to succeed in the academic environment: including topics such as academic writing styles and critical thinking; writing stages, strategies, and organization; writing and research; and proper grammar and writing mechanics.
 
 
Week One: October 25, Introduction to Academic Writing
Week Two: November 1, Grammar and Writing Mechanics
Week Three: November 8, Writing Stages, Strategies, and Organization
Week Four: November 15, Writing and Research
 
 
Course Requirements:
    • Course is graded as credit/no credit
    • Attendance is required for all classes
    • Participation is required
    • Required text: Painless Grammar by Rebecca Elliott
     
    The class has limited enrollment and will be filled on a first-come, first-accepted basis.
     
    Two semester credit hours: $680.
    Payments must be received with registration.  No deferred billing.
