Associate Dean
Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction in the formation of the general student body including: overseeing and advocating for the student experience; serving as the liaison between students and faculty; and fostering a supportive campus environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and implements a residence life strategy leading to quality student life and retention
- Assist in day-to-day operations of the Student Development office
- Oversees management, operations, and strategic planning for on-campus residential facilities
- Ensures housing policies promote student well being
- Provides oversight in off-campus housing petitions and communications with students and families regarding housing
- Collaborates with maintenance/facilities teams to ensure halls are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with health and safety standards
- Develops, implements and supports programs that promote student engagement, leadership, faith integration, and academic success
- Partners with other campus departments in the development of purposeful, comprehensive activities and program efforts for all students
- Oversees and implements residence life policies and disciplinary processes wit a restorative justice approach, balancing accountability with grace and guidance
- Serves as a key point of contract for student concerns, addressing issues related to personal development, conduct, and well-being
- Ensures institutional policies related to student behavior are effectively communicated and upheld
- Mediates conflicts involving interpersonal student issues which includes providing counseling referral services
- Assists with Title IX compliance serving as Deputy Title IX Coordinator and facilities hearing/decision panel
- Services as a key point of contract for student senate leadership, addressing issues related to services and wellbeing of students; holds regular meetings with Student Senart President and Vice President

Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field
- 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in residence life, student affairs or related field
- Experience in mentoring leaders and management ability
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
- May be required to live on campus
- Work is typically performed in a conventional office environment
- Some travel is required
- Evening and weekend work is required when necessary
