Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
- Directs all aspects of event set-up, staging requirements, lighting, video, photography, and sound system coordination and operation.
- Responds to technical requests from event customers in a customer-centric fashion while abiding by policies and procedures set forth to provide consistent and excellent event support.
- Exercises general direction of student workers and other members of the event technical crews.
- Assists with the functionality of all media equipment used in meeting venues on campus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
An Associate’s degree in a media-related field is preferred with working knowledge of the production industry, including rules, and safety regulations. Experience with audio, lighting, video production,and photography is required. Experience with Windows and Mac operating systems is required.A successful hire will have the ability and or interest in learning the following:
Audio
- Signal flow and troubleshooting
- Live sound reinforcement and mixing
- Microphone placement
- Recording, mixing, and mastering
- DAWs – Pro Tools and/or Logic Pro
- Digital and analog mixing consoles
- Monitoring systems
- Soldering
- Stage plots
Video
- Signal flow and troubleshooting
- Live video production
- Video editing – Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premiere
- Propresenter, Powerpoint
- Blackmagic video equipment
- Live streaming

- Drone piloting
Lighting
- Signal flow and troubleshooting
- Onyx and Madmapper software

- Knowledge of digital cameras

Other Duties (assist the Technical Coordinator with the following tasks)
- Manage student workers
- Manage events calendar and scheduling
- Plan/manage projects and budgets
- Maintain and repair equipment
- Train student workers
A successful candidate will have the ability to train faculty, staff, and students on media equipmentusage and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. He or she will be able to understand and respond to performers’ needs and requests, as outlined in the technical rider or event set up form specifications and be able to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
The successful candidate will be able to exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs while establishing, maintaining, and fostering positive and harmonious working relationships with co-workers as well as internal and external customers.This position’s working hours are determined by the events that are scheduled in a given week and can vary significantly (days, evenings, weekends).
The position will have moderate exposure toworking conditions such as noise, working outdoors, working on ladders and lifts, mechanicalhazards, and electrical hazards. Essential functions of the position may require considerable physicalactivity. Must be able lift an average of 60 lbs. Must have a valid driver’s license.
