Job Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for all assigned areas on campus which include:  public buildings, private offices, event venues, student dormitories, student rooms and cooking and eating facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of activities including:  cleaning, disinfecting/sanitizing, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, etc…
• Collects and removes trash and debris
• Spot checks tile floors and windows on a daily basis and cleans accordingly
• Ensures all areas assigned to are cared for and inspected according to standards
• Maintains organized and fully stocked supply storage closets
• Inventories cleaning supplies and equipment and requisitions on a weekly basis
• Completes routine inspections of all assigned areas on a monthly basis and notes items and areas that need in-depth attention
• Completes documentation as required
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED
• Proven experience as a Cleaner or Housekeeper

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Physically able to reach, stretch, grasp, bend, and walk during daily routine, with the ability to stand for long lengths of time
• Hours and days of work may vary on a weekly basis
• May occasionally be required to work overtime
• May occasionally be required to work weekends and special events when needed
