About the position

Malone University seeks an Open Rank Professor of Exercise Science to be a core member of the Exercise Science program which is housed in the Division of Natural and Health Sciences. The division also has majors in Biology, Chemistry, Nursing and Zoo & Wildlife Biology.

Individuals with expertise in Exercise Science, Biomechanics, or Athletic Training are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • The normal teaching load is 12 credits per semester
  • Teach lectures and labs in athletic injury and care, biomechanics, anatomical structure and function, anatomy and physiology and other courses based on applicant’s areas of specialization.
  • Advise and mentor students and supervise undergraduate research
  • Engage in scholarship and community service
  • Serve on departmental & institutional committees

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Exercise Science, Athletic Training or related field by August 2025 is preferred, Masters will be considered. Final rank will be determined by qualifications and experience.
  • Certification through the NCSA, ACSM or NATA is strongly recommended but not required
  • Ability to teach courses related to anatomy and physiology, clinical exercise science, care and prevention of injuries, biomechanics and other classes in the Exercise Science and Biology programs as needed
  • Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring, professional development and scholarly research
  • Commitment to the Christian faith and a commitment to the integration of faith and learning in the academic discipline

Timeline

About the Division

The Division of Natural and Health Sciences consists of twelve full-time faculty (six in the nursing program, threebiologists, two chemists, and an exercise science specialist) with varying research interests. The division offers a widevaried of majors in the realm of Natural and Health Sciences
