- AI Tech Summit: We celebrated National AI Literacy Day on April 19 by co-hosting, with the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Canton AI Tech Innovation Summit. “Forging the Future” included networking discussions, Q&A panels, breakout sessions with business professionals within the community, and a keynote session featuring Lt. Governor Jon Husted.
- Faith @ Work Leadership Summit: Our new Faith @ Work Leadership Summit provided high-level industry leaders with an opportunity to cultivate their Christian faith through leadership development and networking. The Summit included session discussions led by Henry Cloud, Ph.D., clinical psychologist and NYT best-selling author of the Boundaries series, and other regional leaders. - Big Day: On September 7, we launched our inaugural Big Day at Malone music festival and the Johnson Center Worship Center was filled to capacity! Featuring performances by Josiah Queen, Joseph O’Brien, and indie tribe, this one day event included an outdoor festival with food trucks, performances by local worship bands, inflatables, games, and an art installation in addition to the evening concerts. More than 1100 people, including youth groups and families who traveled from outside Ohio, lined University Drive to join in the fun. You can read about it here!
- Malone 360 Initiative: The Malone 360 Initiative is a Christ-centered program which is focused on “impacting the next generation through sport and beyond.” Recently, the Malone 360 initiative hosted a youth track and field summer camp program, as well as the Hall of Fame Area All Abilities Camp presented by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). - Canton Rotary: On a weekly basis, we’re honored to host the Canton Rotary Club for their meetings right here on campus.The Rotary has a history of service to the local community in accordance with their mission of "service above self". This is a natural fit for Malone, as we provide rental amenities to the group on an ongoing basis.
- FAHE: Over the summer, Malone hosted the 2024 Friends Association for Higher Education (FAHE) Conference on campus for the first time since 2013. “Valiant for the Truth” welcomed esteemed Quaker scholars as well as presenting the group with an opportunity to observe George Fox’s 400th birthday. - Sustainability Festival: To celebrate Earth Day 2024, our inaugural Sustainability Festival welcomed area vendors, food trucks, activities, animals from the Malone Zoo collection, and more. The goal of Sustainability Fest was to bring regional awareness to the importance of “creation care,” modeling a respectful stewardship of God’s creation.Click to learn more about the event and the student-led committee that hosted it!

Practical Ministry Certificate: President Miller and Provost Schynders recently celebrated our newest class of Practical Ministry graduates by presenting them with their certificates during the Evangelical Friends Church-Eastern Region (EFC-ER) Yearly Meeting. Celanie Haney, Lisa Nolan, Julie Smith, and Amy Stewart have worked diligently to hone the ministry skills God has given them, and we are excited to see how He will use them in Kingdom work!
