EFC-ER Partnership Blessings
Faith integration at Malone University dates back to March 17, 1892: the first day of classes hosted by Friends ministers J. Walter and Emma Malone. The shared vision of furthering Christ's Kingdom has bonded Malone University and the Evangelical Friends Church-Eastern Region (EFC-ER) for more than 130 years, a connection providing immeasurable support to Malone throughout our history.
Recently, we have been blessed through this partnership in a variety of ways:
-
During the 2024 Yearly Meeting, EFC-ER members surrounded Malone faculty and staff, praying over the many ways God is working through the University.
-
Malone has been able to host Pastor Dave Williams ‘84 as Professor of Practical Ministry. His experience working in churches across the country–including as Interim Director of Evangelical Friends Church International–is an invaluable addition to our academic community and resource for our students.
-
The EFC-ER transferred ownership of Camp Gideon to Malone University, bolstering the camp’s mission of discipleship and providing hands-on learning opportunities for our students. “We believe this gift will enhance the Eastern Region’s ministry through ongoing partnership with Malone,” said Ed Walsh, EFC-ER Executive Director. “We feel this is a win-win-win for Malone, the EFC-ER, and for Camp Gideom’s ability to continue serving the community as we work together to expand God’s kingdom.”
“The EFC-ER has been an incredible support for us in this new chapter in Malone's history, and we certainly wouldn’t be where we are today without them.” said President Greg Miller Ph.D. “Our future is bright as we work together putting Christ’s Kingdom First in all things, promoting the good work of EFC-ER and Malone together.”
Did you know? Non-monetary gifts (such as Camp Gideon) make a big impact! These gifts often provide resources and opportunities for students that enrich their education and further our mission in unique ways.
