Endowed Scholarships Benefit Malone Students

Did you know 100% of Malone students receive financial aid? Some of this aid comes from major-specific scholarships, such as the Beth Rettew Excellence in Nursing Endowed Scholarship.

Because of opportunities like these, students are able to excel in their chosen field. Last year, for the fifth time in Malone history, the BSN Class of 2024 passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) on the first attempt!

The Beth Rettew Excellence in Nursing Endowed Scholarship was funded in honor of  Beth Rettew, a beloved nurse, faculty member, friend, and mentor. Throughout her life, she embodied the professional role of the nurse in caring for the body, mind, and spirit of her patients. During her career, she served as a dedicated and passionate nursing professor who sought to develop nurses who applied both their intellect and their faith to their practice. Her impact is felt by those who learned under her, who are cared for by nurses she trained, and who were blessed to be her colleagues.

“Beth Rettew was a fierce advocate for the unique role of a professional nurse. She placed deep value on the importance of education in developing nurses who are competent, compassionate, Christ-like advocates for their patients. I can truly say her fingerprints are all through my work and I am thrilled that she continues to impact our current students through this scholarship.”
