Welcome Message from the President

In this season of gratitude, my heart overflows with joy as I watch God’s hand guide and protect Malone. We are experiencing His favor in many ways, and He is stirring the hearts of our students: drawing them to Himself and calling them to minister to one another. Some days, I still can’t believe I get a front row seat!

When we welcomed the students back to campus in August, I reminded them of truth found in one of my favorite passages in all of Scripture:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:1–3 (NIV)

I am inspired by the pioneers who came before us (like Walter and Emma Malone), and take seriously the ways in which they modeled perseverance, sacrifice, and a desire to live counter-culturally. In my own life, I want to set aside what hinders so that I can run the race God has called me to run. And, above all, I will keep reminding our community to look to the best Pioneer – Jesus Himself – so that on the journey we can know with confidence, This is the way, walk in it (Isaiah 30:21).

As you continue to keep Malone in your prayers, know how thankful we are for you, too. Your giving of time and financial resources, the various ways you interact with and encourage our students, and your intercession on our behalf keep us going on the race set before us. We’re continuing to seek Christ’s Kingdom First and it’s a joy to have you by our side!
