Policy on Public Statements
President Miller will, on occasion, produce a statement in the aftermath of a national or international issue/event.
Typically, public statements will be limited to those times when political, legal, and social events occur that directly involve the University or members of the community.
When evaluating opportunities to release public statements, these questions will be considered:
- Does the issue align with Malone University’s mission and values?
- Can Malone meaningfully influence the issue?
- Will the majority of Malone’s constituents agree with speaking out?
- Have members of the Malone community been especially affected by the event/issue?
