Charlie Grimes to represent Malone University for "Real Men Wear Pink" campaign
Malone University’s Athletic Director Charlie Grimes said he’s honored to represent Malone for the American Cancer Society’s “Real Men Wear Pink” campaign.
“I have lived within a household with four women for nearly 20 years,” said Grimes, whose wife Wendy works in the Registrar’s office, and three daughters are students - or graduates - of Malone. “Breast cancer affects everyone - it doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman. That's why I'm stepping up to fight breast cancer with all I have. Since I'm in a position to make a difference within my community, I believe I have an obligation to do so. By raising money and awareness through Real Men Wear Pink, I'm helping to save more lives from breast cancer.”
This Sunday, Malone will be the host for the annual American Cancer Society Making Strides Walk. More than 7,000 are expected in attendance.
“I am passionate about living a lifestyle of prevention, and also encouraging those that have suffered and are suffering from this terrible disease.”
Malone community members may sign up to walk at makingstrideswalk.org/canton or to help Grimes reach his $2,500 fundraising goal here:
