Marilyn Weitzel - Nursing & Vocation: Did you take God to work today? Presented on Wednesday, April 11, from 6:30-8 p.m.

Malone University will welcome Marilyn Weitzel, R.N., Ph.D., to the Brehme Conference Center on Wednesday, April 11, from 6:30-8 p.m. for a lecture entitled, "Nursing & Vocation: Did you take God to work today?"

This Center for Christian Faith & Culture Vocatio Series lecture is a collaboration with the Malone University School of Nursing and is designed to help nurses and nursing students think through how their vocations as Christians relates to their work in the field of nursing. Our speaker will cover the place of spirituality in nursing and what are the consequences of taking God into the workplace as a nurse.

Dr. Marilyn Weitzel, PhD, RN, has been a nurse for the past five decades and has loved every minute of working as a nurse. Throughout these decades her Christian faith has been the foundation of her work; she counts it a privilege to support patients physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Weitzel holds a doctoral degree in Instructional Design and Development from the University of South Alabama, and Masters and Baccalaureate Degrees in Nursing from the University of Akron. She also holds a Bachelor's in Professional Arts Degree from St. Joseph College in Maine. She has served as a nurse educator in various universities, and is currently at Indiana Wesleyan University. Dr. Weitzel also volunteers at the Hospice of SouthWest General in Strongsville, where she has many opportunities to provide spiritual support to residents and their families.
