According to a recent study by Money, Malone is ranked the most affordable private university in the state-- a distinction you can’t put a price tag on.

In its 2024 Best Colleges analysis of more than 700 four-year colleges, Money’s ranking of Malone places it sixth among the 24 Ohio colleges and universities included in the study. Coming in at $22,800 for its estimated tuition price including average grant money, Malone remains committed to providing an affordable Christian education as northeast Ohio’s only Bible-based university.

“Money does a thorough job of analyzing colleges on measures that are meaningful to students’ experiences,” said Eric Young, Ph.D., vice president for enrollment and marketing. “While this ranking directly speaks to our cost, it also speaks to the value and legacy of the Malone experience. We’re so grateful for graduates and friends of Malone whose generosity makes scholarship dollars possible. The cost of higher education continues to be a deciding factor that drives students’ college choices and this endorsement validates what we know to be true: a Malone education is an excellent value for your dollar.”

Malone University is committed to offering pathways to help keep college affordable, providing nearly $17 million a year in student financial aid. These pathways include robust merit awards, music scholarships, the Stark Scholars Program, federal work-study opportunities, and price matches for students from partner schools and churches. Over 90% of our students receive some form of financial aid, demonstrating our commitment to making a premier Christian education accessible to all.

“Malone’s institutional scholarships and grant money enable many of our students to pay less here than to attend a state university,” said Pam Pustay, director of financial aid. “Families now recognize the importance of looking beyond the sticker price and considering the net price of attendance instead. A Malone University education at a public school price? Now that’s value!”

“Our mission at Malone is to provide students with an education based on biblical faith, and we want to minimize barriers that can stand in the way of that mission,” said President Gregory Miller. “While receiving this affirmation is exciting and satisfying, our chief goal isn’t the recognition—it’s watching our students grow into the servant leaders God has created them to be.”
