An extension of the Stark County Scholars program, Malone’s Transfer Advantage Award demonstrates the Institution’s commitment to supporting transfer students who want to affordably complete their education in a Christian university setting.

This program offers a unique opportunity for academically qualified students transferring from specific counties in Northeast Ohio to complete their degree with reduced financial barriers.

Fully covering tuition and comprehensive fees, students who have graduated from a high school, or currently reside, in one of the following counties are eligible for consideration: Stark, Summit, Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula, Trumbull, Portage, Mahoning, Columbiana, Carroll, Tuscarawas, and Holmes.

“We are thrilled to offer this new initiative in order to ensure that Christian higher education remains financially feasible in northeast Ohio,” said Eric R. Young, Ph.D., vice president for enrollment. “As northeast Ohio’s only Bible-based university, we believe it’s important that we meet students where they are on their educational and faith journeys. The first college they choose may not be the right one for them to complete their degrees. We want to make sure that, if it’s an excellent Christian education they’re seeking, that they don’t have to leave northeast Ohio for the most affordable choice.”

To qualify, students must demonstrate financial need and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.8. Students are responsible for books, room and board (if living on campus), and the enrollment deposit.

“We will make it easy to get the process started,” said Director of Financial Aid Pam Pustay. “With an application for admission and a FAFSA submitted to Malone, we have all the information we need to support the student and their family as they weigh their decision to transfer. Our team wants to walk alongside students through the transfer process, ensuring that they have the resources and guidance they need to complete their degree successfully.”

Space in the program is limited, so transfer students are encouraged to apply early.
