Timothy Dalrymple, Ph.D., stepped into the role of President & CEO of Christianity Today on May 1, 2019. He will deliver Malone University’s 133rd Commencement address on Saturday, May 10 at the Johnson Center for Worship & the Fine Arts.

A graduate of Stanford University, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Harvard University’s Graduate School of the Arts and Sciences, Dalrymple grew up in a pastor’s home and learned to preach and teach at a young age. Throughout the course of his education, he plunged into campus ministry and overseas missions, ministering with Campus Crusade (Cru) and Intervarsity Christian Fellowship along the way. He also served in youth ministry and prison chaplaincy.

Before beginning his leadership at Christianity Today, Dalrymple’s desire to thoughtfully engage the public square and to find creative ways of sharing the Gospel in the media marketplace was expressed in his work helping to launch Patheos (2008-2014) – the world’s largest forum for religious conversation. First, he was managing editor of the site’s evangelical channel, then director of content and vice-president of business development.

In 2013, he also founded and led Polymath, a creative agency that helps businesses and nonprofits serving the world with branding, design, web, video, marketing and communications, and content development. Its clients have included the Museum of the Bible, International Justice Mission, the American Enterprise Institute, and Indiana Wesleyan University.

"We are excited that Tim Dalrymple will be our 2025 Commencement speaker. He is one of the most important global leaders today in evangelicalism,” said Malone University President Greg Miller, Ph.D. “Tim brings an amazing combination of cultural insight, theological acumen, and Christ-like character. Our students, families, and guests will be blessed by his message. Malone University is a strong supporter of Christianity Today and we look forward to hearing from its president."

Dalrymple finds great joy in the wife, Joyce, who chose to share a life with him almost 25 years ago and the three daughters who had no choice. He shivers on the periphery of soccer games and track meets in the suburbs west of Chicago.

Christianity Today was founded in 1956 by Billy Graham and has served for nearly seven decades to advance the stories and ideas of the global church. Today, it reaches about 40 million people each year through print, digital, audio, and video publications and resources.
