"We are a fairly young church and haven’t attended many events like this one. For many of our students, this was the first time they had been to a youth conference. It was really cool to see their response to the bands and speakers. The students really connected with the people on stage. Reggie Dabbs is able to speak as though he is talking directly to you. I saw many students in the room respond to the encouraging messages, including some of my own students. One girl in particular seemed to really connect with what Reggie was saying. During one call to respond, she came forward and gave me a hug with tears in her eyes saying she was ready to let something go that she had been holding onto in her life. These years in a young person’s life are extremely important for developing ownership of their faith. For many, it’s a time when they are deciding if they are going to follow their parents, follow their friends, or if they will follow Jesus. These are the moments that I had myself at Youth Explosion many years ago when I was in high school. The memories I made there I will never forget. Youth Explosion is a fantastic experience to enjoy as a group."
